Data protection notice

This data protection notice explains how your personal information will be used by University of the Arts London (‘UAL’).

If you provide any information about another person, it is your responsibility to ensure that they understand that their information will be used in accordance with this Data Protection Notice and the University’s Privacy Policy. By providing their information to us, you confirm that you have notified them of this and that you are authorized to provide their information to us.

UAL will use the information you or any person acting on your behalf provides on this website, in telephone conversations, email correspondence or in person along with other information provided by UAL’s student registry (together ‘Personal Information’) to EITHER (a) administer your application for, and booking of, accommodation at any of UAL’s halls of residence including collecting payment OR (b) deal with any queries or issues relating to your accommodation at any of UAL’s advertised halls of residence.

UAL will disclose relevant parts of your Personal Information to third parties in the following circumstances:

  • to the aforementioned halls of residence when you are offered and/or take up a place
  • to any person to whom you have given us authority to disclose your Personal Information
  • where it is in your vital interests to do so (such as in the event of an incident that could damage your wellbeing)
  • to secure insurance on your behalf
  • where we have a legal obligation to do so

From time to time Accommodation Services would like to notify you by post, email, or phone about events, opportunities goods and services that may be of interest to you. This may include those offered by third parties. We will, of course, respect your preference not to be contacted if you notify us this is the case.

It is important that you promptly notify us of any changes to your Personal Information as failing to do so may affect you and our ability to contact you in an emergency.

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data that the University holds about you. A fee of £10 will be payable. Requests for amendments and/or access to your Personal Information should be addressed in the first instance to
